“I’ve heard yoga is good for you, but I don’t know a lot about it and I don’t know where to start.”
If you have had this thought, you are not alone. I hear that frequently from patients and assure them that there are no special requirements and beginning is usually as simple as finding an appropriate class.
Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India. It focuses on bringing together body, mind, spirit and breath as a means of altering energy. By achieving a healthy balance of the body’s autonomic nervous system, yoga has a positive effect on many different bodily processes.

For me, yoga has become a way of life. Not only has it become one of my main forms of exercise, it has made me more flexible, improved my sleep quality and overall helps me feel centered, uplifted and grateful.
